As a company that is committed to continual improvement, we have recently employed 13 bricklayer apprentices. The apprenticeship combines learning at a college/training provider with on-site experience to give apprentices the right mix of technical and practical skills at Level 2.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Experienced Class 2 Road Sweeper Driver to operate a new Johnston V501 Dual Sweeper, based on a Leyland DAF 12T Chassis which is currently in production with delivery anticipated at the end of September / Early October. 

You will be working on our construction sites based in Devon & Cornwall and also on the public highway. 

Previous experience is essential, the ideal candidate must have a clean class 2 licence together with a CPC and be well prepared for early morning starts.

Every year the London Stock Exchange does a 1,000 most inspiring businesses for the whole of Britain. For the fourth year we were very honoured to find out that Steve Hoskin Construction Ltd were one of 16 in the South West and 1 of 5 in Cornwall including another local groundwork’s company Champions Ltd – who we partner with in our company - Groundfix.

London Stock Exchange produces the report to identify the fastest growing and the most dynamic SME’s across Britain. From the data they’ve gathered it shows that companies in the South west are growing at an increased rate of 45%.

When London Stock Exchange look at selecting companies they have to look at – company status (must be registered in the UK), the size and age of the company (revenues must be from £6m - £250m), the financial performance (the average annual turnover growth rate) and Sector benchmarking (within the Standard Industrial Classification the companies are ranked by their individual growth rates).

We are very proud of Sam Lane who we supported running in the London marathon this year. Sam was raising money for Meningitis research foundation – all the money donated will go to the charity to help funding research, finding treatments and helping the families affected. It was always Sam’s dream to run the 26.2 miles marathon so what better way to do it than to raise money and create awareness for such a great cause.
