Saltram Meadows, Plymouth

Saltram Meadow is the redevelopment of Plymstock Quarry set to be one of the most exciting areas of redevelopment that Plymouth has seen for a long time. The site is a large area of disused quarry land that has planning for over 500 new homes, leisure and recreational facilities. New roads and transport will provide links to the city centre.

The site has been split into multiple phases. We have completed works to Phase 1A, 1B and 1C. Phases 1A and 1B have over 18000 square metres of road and over 6000 metres of drainage.

Works are nearly complete on Phase 5, Which consists of a further 6,000m² of road and around 1,400m of drainage.

As the development was previously a disused quarry, some of the ground conditions are not suitable for all houses to be traditional foundations; we have therefore had to construct piled, raft and traditional foundations. The piled foundations have involved constructing our own reinforced ground beams and the raft foundations have comprised of complex RC structures. The site also features a large pumping station for the foul waste with 72 cubic metres of storage.

Priory Meadows, Bodmin

Priory Meadows is split over 2 phases consisting of 2, 3 & 4 bedroom homes. The first phase is now complete which consisted of 39 plots and associated infrastructure. SHC have now begun works on phase 2 including the remaining 139 units, constructing over 5000m² of road and installing three large highway soakaway tanks.

Palmerston Heights

Palmerston Heights is a multiple phase development featuring a collection of 2 bedroom apartments and 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes in the city of Plymouth, Devon. The site is situated in the old Seaton Barracks, beside a historic 19th century fort. The first phase of the development is for 105 units and consists of complex earthworks exercises resulting in over 30,000 cubic metres of surplus spoil being carted off-site. Due to the gradient of the site, we are building multiple retaining features up to 3.0m high. We are in the process of constructing the one side of the dual carriageway which will eventually link to the existing Forder Valley junction in Plymouth.
We have recently completed all plots within Phase 9 and are now complete attenuation ponds and earthworks site. We have also recently completed the FVLR which joins Forder Valley to William Prance Road new Derriford, this was a large project for PCC.
