SHC Health & Safety Policy statement of intent
The objective of this policy is to attain and maintain high standards of health and safety performance throughout Steve Hoskin Construction Ltd. All persons conducting activities under the name of Steve Hoskin Construction Ltd will adhere to this Health & Safety Policy.
The SHC Ltd management system applies to the provision of general ground work ervices, including road construction, sewers and drainage, sub-structure block and brickwork, tarmac surfacing, in-situ concrete construction, block paving, attenuation tank construction, block and beam flooring, earth works and associated ground work activities.
The company shall deliver the requirements of this policy by:
- Providing safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and/or ill health.
- Continually improving the H&S management system through the ongoing use of strategic H&S objectives.
- Fulfilling relevant H&S legal (and other) requirements applicable to its activities.
- Using suitable risk assessment processes to eliminate hazards wherever possible and reduce H&S risks.
- Consulting on H&S matters and ensuring the participation of workers and their representatives.
- Demonstrating a visible management commitment to high standards of health and safety performance.
- Promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout the Company.
- Providing and maintaining a safe working environment, together with adequate facilities and arrangements for the welfare of employees.
- Providing and maintaining a safe means of access and egress to and from the workplace.
- Having in place adequate arrangements to ensure safety in connection with the use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances.
- Providing such information, instruction, training, and supervision as is necessary to ensure the health and safety of those working on behalf of the company.
