SHC celebrate Joint Contractor of the Year May 2023

Neil and the team were pleased to attend the Countryside Partnerships Charity Gala event where we were honoured to accept the award for Joint Contractor of the Year.

Countryside Partnerships state that ‘Our supply chain partners are critical in helping us to create Places People Love.

Without them, we wouldn’t be able to build our homes at the same pace or to the same high-quality standards our customers have come to expect’.

We are delighted to have been recognised for our continuous commitment to the standards set out by Countryside Partnerships.

New plant

Takeuchi diggers –

Investing in our business and having the latest plant for our team is very important to us at SHC. We have just taken delivery of 17! new Takeuchi diggers which have gone straight out to work!

The Vac Ex –

We are excited to announce that SHC have invested in a vacuum excavator to add to our fleet. The Vac ex is quickly becoming the preferred method to use across construction sites, it helps to create a safer working environment, and is more cost effective. This new technology creates a solution where traditional excavation couldn’t be used, such as, confined spaces and around live services.

Hydrostatic dumper –

Another new addition (which is believed to be the first one in the country!) is the Hydrostatic dumper, to ensure operator safety, reducing risk on site and improving performance. This machine is driven by a hydrostatic transmission, making it simple and straightforward to operate.

SHC is saddened to announce the sudden death of one of our employees, Ricky Starkey at the weekend. Ricky had worked with SHC since 2019, and in that time had made many friends and will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time. Farewell Peter Ireland!

The 29th April was a sad day within the SHC office as we wished Peter Ireland a happy retirement. Peter has been with SHC from the beginning and has been an essential component in the business growing to what it is today. Peter started as an engineer and over the years put his expanse of knowledge to use by heading up the commercial department building wonderful friendships and relationships with many of our clients. Everyone at SHC wishes Peter a wonderful retirement. We hope you enjoy this new chapter of your life, and hope it’s filled with good health, relaxation, and fun! we will all miss your energy, enthusiasm, and most of all, your unfailing dedication to helping SHC function a little better every day.
